The Kaohsiung Unlimited MRT Pass cards, also known as the Kaohsiung Metro 24-hrs and 48-hrs cards, allow unlimited use of the Kaohsiung Metro for a specified number of hours from their first use. They are a convenient way to explore Kaohsiung for those that plan to do many journeys, or those that do not want to spend too much time stopping for breaks.
What does it cost?
24 hours: NT$180
48 hours: NT$280
How do I use it?
To use a Kaohsiung Unlimited MRT Pass for the first time, scan your card at the ticket gates. After this just scan your card on the gates to exit and enter stations.
Is it worth it?
Standard ticket costs between NT$17 and NT$30 for those that use IC cards such as an iPass or Easycard. You’ll therefore need to do plenty of journeys on one of these passes to make it worth it, but if you have lots of attractions on your wishlist, or want to explore non-touristy spots in the city, then the 24-hour or 48-hour passes might be an economical purchase. Note that a slightly cheaper day pass is also available.
Where can I buy it?
You can purchase the pass at a station service desk, or to save time you can buy online beforehand.
